When to use
  • Preparing RSI drugs.
Pearls and pitfalls
  • Reduce induction doses in shock (often by half for propofol; ketamine 0.5–1 mg/kg).
  • Succinylcholine is contraindicated with hyperkalemia risk (burns or crush over 24 h, denervation, myopathies).
  • Sugammadex 16 mg/kg reverses rocuronium immediately.
Why use

Uses the right weight scalar for each drug, a common error in obesity.

Dose = mg/kg × the weight that drug is dosed on (actual, ideal, or lean)
