CrCl in changing kidney function (Jelliffe)
Estimates creatinine clearance from two creatinine values when kidney function is not stable.

Patient values are shared with every calculator.
When to use
- Acute kidney injury or recovery, when creatinine is rising or falling.
Pearls and pitfalls
- Steady-state equations overestimate clearance while creatinine is rising.
- Use values drawn at least 12 to 24 hours apart.
- Fluid overload dilutes creatinine and overestimates clearance.
Why use
Accounts for creatinine accumulating or clearing between two levels.
CrCl = [E − 4 × W × (SCr2 − SCr1) ÷ days] × 100 ÷ (1440 × SCr avg); E = W × (29.305 − 0.203 × age) × (1.035 − 0.0337 × SCr avg), × 0.86 if female
